Production week 3



The third week of our first production sprint contained the following tasks:

- implement all the still necessary gameplay elements to have a working, playable game - work heavily on the map and the characters - put all of this together in one, nice and playable build to playtest it

For the island we now have a destructible, textured map that is prefractured. It can randomly fall apart and has a working collision system.

The characters are in a finished state, which means they have been completely modeled, rigged, textured and the different masks have been added to them. They are fully animated and their gameplay mechanics are implemented: Walking, picking up blocks, placing blocks, punching towers and punching players, also a spawning system for them has been added.



Same goes for the normal and gold block, which have been finished completely this week as well. They have a spawning system, can be stacked, fall over and be destroyed. Also they can now be combined when enough of them are stacked on top of each other.


The problem where player can rotate while holding the block and knock everything out of the way. We have some solution for that but for now if you do that the block just going to pop of from your back



Furthermore, we worked on a bunch of Island decoration, like small plants, trees, clouds and some other rocks to place around the map. All the textures for that and the other models have been created and can be used for future models as well.

We playtested a lot and had to fix a bunch of bugs, surely not all of them are gone by now but there are definitely some things fixed already that caused issues before.
