Polish 2 Final devlog
Polish week 2
This week was all about fixing bugs, tweaking visuals, implementing the last bits that were still missing and doable in time and playtesting. Lots of playtesting.
During the playtesting we then found more bugs, more little things that would be useful to add and of course also stuff that we wouldn’t be able to add anymore for the sake of limited time and many other exams that are moving closer.
The main bugs we got out of the way were the ones that caused players to create multiple towers by accident. One that made picking up blocks very frustrating because they often just dropped again when you hit any other block with it by accident. And the one we started calling the “Shark”, where the player looks like they are swimming around after respawning or falling anyhow.
The UI got some little upgrades here and there, such as visual feedback when selecting a button to press and the bomb inventory for each player. As well as winning screens.
Other than that we added a few ambient tweaks like falling leaves and waterfall splashes.
The final week of work on our game project. The project is coming to an end and the exam date is near. We feel well prepared and even with the corona crisis around we managed to get that far.
