Production Week 5

Composition & Lighting

We filled up our level some more to give it more the Inca feel we are going for and changed our camera angle to get a better overview of the map. To give it a better feel, we changed our lighting and added some post processing to push the colors some more.

UI

We created some how to play screens for the start of the game that would explain how the game works and what each different block does. Also the controls and a ranking screen were added in the same style so it would all come together nicely in the end.

RFX

We want the block to hover when the player picks it up so we added a particle effect to visualize this in a better way. When a tower gets destroyed we also want to get some visual feedback so we created a dust cloud effect when the tower breaks. A particle in the same style was used for when the player is trying to destroy a tower.

Blocks

A super fancy rainbow block that will make you double the size so other players cannot push you away and an explosive block so you can blow up other towers  as one of the latest additions to our block collection.

Environment

We created a volcano and some statues in the environment to fill it up some more together with some more vegetation. The statue is based on a concept from the amazing Anna Aboimova.

Player feedback

When a block is being dropped from the air we want some indication where a the blocks are going to drop so the player know. We added some arrow on the map right before blocks are going to drop from the sky. We did the same for the bomb but with a red arrow.
